The Rotary Club of Bishopdale Burnside programmes in the new generations takes a number of different forms that are highlighted on this page.
This Annual project has been conducted by the club for over 20 years in the northwest surburbs of Christchurch.
Held In conjunction with local primary and intermediate schools school children are given the opportunity to present speeches on their own topics firstly at there own school and then compete with other children from other schools culminating in a grand final. The winners of each age group are also invited to present their winning speechs at a club meeting.
Established in the club over 5 years ago, the On a Roll programme is aimed at those students nominated by their schools who have performed in an outstanding way but not necessarily in the sporting or academic field.
Each year the Rotary Club of Bishopdale Burnside sponsors 18-24 year old’s to attend a high energy, concentrated leadership development programme for developing leaders.
RYLA seeks to recognise, encourage and develop future community and workplace leaders by offering them an intensive training experience.17th to 22nd January 2016
One Club within District 9970 agrees to organise and host the RYLA programme for a 3 year period before passing the organisation on to another club.
