Get Ready, book lovers — BOOKarama 2026 is officially on its way!

We’re excited to share that this year’s event will return 17-19 April and its shaping up to be one of our best yest. Whether you’re a collector, a casual reader, or someone who simply loves the buzz of a good book fair, BOOKarama is the place to be.

What’s New (and What’s Back!) in 2026

• We will be open longer – opening daily at 9am (one hour earlier than in previous years)
• Same Great Location – Bishopdale Recreation Centre
• Help us celebrate our 20 years of running this event.
• Thousands of books, sorted and priced to suit every kind of reader — fiction, non‑fiction, children’s titles, rare finds, and everything in between.
• Volunteer opportunities for those who want to get involved and support the community. Please contact us if you wish to volunteer,
• All funds raised support Rotary projects that make a real difference right here in our community

Donate, Volunteer, or Spread the Word

The heart of BOOKarama has always been the generosity and enthusiasm of the people who make it possible. In the lead‑up to the 2026 event, we’ll be welcoming:

• Book, Dvd and Jigsaw donations in good condition. Collections will start in March – we will advise dates and locations then.
• Helpers for sorting days and event setup
• Community supporters to share the event with friends, whānau, colleagues, and networks

Every book donated and every hour volunteered directly helps us build a bigger, more successful Bookarama.
