Thank You, Christchurch – Your BOOKarama Support Has Been Incredible

As we prepare for the 20th BOOKarama Booksale, the Rotary Club of Bishopdale Burnside would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Christchurch community for your overwhelming generosity and support.

Over recent weeks, we have been truly humbled by the volume of good quality books, DVDs, and jigsaws donated in support of BOOKarama 2026. Your contributions will help make this milestone event one of our biggest and best yet, while also enabling Rotary to continue supporting a wide range of local and community projects.

Collection Now Closed

We would like to let everyone know that donations have now closed, and all BOOKarama collection bins have been withdrawn. This marks the end of another successful collection season, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to donate.

A special thank you goes to the management and staff at each of our collection locations. Your willingness to host our bins and assist throughout the collection period has been vital to BOOKarama’s success, and we truly appreciate the support and cooperation shown.

A Huge Thank You to Our Volunteers

BOOKarama would not be possible without our dedicated volunteers. Our thanks go to the many Rotary members and supporters who cleared and managed the bins — in some cases two, three times, or even more — ensuring collections ran smoothly and donations were kept safe.

This commitment has been especially appreciated given the recent rises in petrol prices, which have undoubtedly placed extra financial pressure on our volunteers. Your willingness to continue helping, often at personal cost, speaks volumes about the spirit of service within our club and community.

Looking Ahead to BOOKarama 2026

With collection complete, the next stage begins — sorting, organising, and preparing thousands of donated items for sale. Thanks to your generosity, visitors can expect an outstanding selection of books, DVDs, jigsaws, and more when BOOKarama opens next week.
