ARTarama 2020 – The Competition
Originally organised by long-term Rotarian and competent artist, the late Chris Turland, ARTarama has provided over the past 16 years;
- a forum for artists to show their work and to sell at a competitive commission
- recognition of established and emrerging artists, with over $2000 in prizes
- an opportunity for the local community to purchase art from both established artists and emerging artists at a reasonable price.
This years ARTarama 2020 is the eighth biennial ARTarama organised by the Rotary Club of Bishopdale Burnside Charitable Trust and the could not have taken place without the support of our Main sponsor House of Travel and also our other sponsoring companies and individuals.

Proceeds are going to Nurse Maude Hospice and to other Rotary Community Projects.
Prizes for this years competition to be announced at our Gala Opening on Friday night are:
One “Best in Show” prize of $1,000
Two “Distinction” prizes of $500
Three “Highly Commended” prizes of $100

Judge Adrienne Pavelka (www.adrienne-pavelka.com)
Canterbury born and bred, Adrienne is a Lyttelton-based artist painting in a variety of mediums but whose special love is watercolour.
Adrienne is a self-employed artist and has tutored, exhibited and judged exhibitions throughout NZ. She has won many Art Society Awards and was recently honoured by being appointed Patron of Watercolour New Zealand.
Judge Stephanie Crisp (www.stephaniecrisp.nz)
Stephanie lives in Lyttelton after relocating from Hamilton where she worked in education teaching art.
Painting in strong acrylic colour, and sometimes enhanced through collaged materials or embroidery to intensify the surface quality of a work, her work often tells stories of places she has travelled to or lived in.
As an award-winning artist, Stephanie exhibits nationally and teaches small groups.
