Rotary provides vehicle for Dementia Canterbury
During the month the Rotary Club of Bishopdale Burnside officially handed over keys to a new motor vehicle for Dementia Canterbury.
Club President Rod Finch did the honours and handed the keys to Chief Executive of Dementia Canterbury Darral Campbell and is pictured outside the new Braintree Trust support centre which the club also contributed.
“Thanks to the amazing support our Rotary club receives from the public when we run our annual Bookarama we are able to undertake a number of meaningful community projects such as providing this much needed vehicle for Dementia Canterbury” said Rod.
Darral said, “We are very grateful for this generous donation from Bishopdale-Burnside Rotary. The new vehicle will be used by our staff when they deliver a range of services in Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region.”
The services Dementia Canterbury provide include home visits for assessment and support, cognitive stimulation, activity and support groups, community cafes and education to a diverse range of groups.
